Education that builds hope

Bonnette, Ganthier, Haiti. Open since September 2014, adding a grade each year. Seventy-five children are enrolled today.

At Love of Christ in Action we believe education is more than preparing children for a career. It is preparing them for life. Through Christ-centered education we provide vulnerable and displaced children with the knowledge, values, confidence and support they need to grow and thrive.

Our goal is to educate the whole child by nurturing their mind, character, faith and sense of responsibility. We want every child to discover their God-given potential, develop a love for learning, and become a responsible citizen who can positively impact their family and community.

For children who have experienced poverty, displacement or violence, a safe and supportive school can be a place where hope begins again. Through education we are investing in children today so they can help build stronger families and communities tomorrow.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

More than delivering lessons

Our educational approach seeks to develop the mind, character and actions of each child. We want our teachers to do more than simply deliver lessons. They are called to share knowledge, encourage students, develop their character, and inspire them to use their gifts to make a difference for Christ.

We believe children are whole persons, and education should address every part of who they are: their mind, body, character and spirit.

We want to raise children who know that they are loved by God and who learn to love and respect God, their country, and their fellow human beings. Because every person is created in the image of God, every child deserves dignity, care and an opportunity to flourish.

What the school needs

Two projects standing between children and a seat

Four new classrooms

$36,000 full cost

Our school needs more classrooms to welcome children who are waiting for an opportunity to learn. Your support will help us build four additional classrooms and provide more children with a quality Christian education.

Complete the school wall

$28,000 full cost

Only half of our property is currently enclosed. We need to complete the remaining concrete block wall to create a safer environment where children can learn, play and grow.

Removing the barriers that keep a child out of the classroom

The LCA School Supplies & Education Support Project helps vulnerable and displaced children in Haiti remain in school despite the devastating impact of gang violence on their families.

Many parents have lost their homes, jobs and sources of income, and struggle to afford school fees and basic supplies. Through this project LCA helps with school tuition, uniforms, books, notebooks, backpacks and other essential school supplies.

Our goal is simple: to remove financial barriers so children can stay in school, continue learning, and have hope for a better future.

Kindergarten graduation

Every year our youngest students take their first big step. Dressed in white and orange, they sing, play, and receive their certificates in front of the families who worked so hard to get them there.

When you support a child’s education

You are not only providing school supplies. You are investing in a life, a family, and the future of a community.
